Bob LindseyBob Lindsey started building toy trucks in 1994, when he saw an attractive design in a woodworking magazine. In the eight years since then, he has built 65 of the trucks, progressively modifying the design to meet the suggestions and challenges of friends and family members. Today, his catalog of trucks includes log trucks, dump trucks, and oil trucks, as well as toy strollers and wagons. He builds many of them for family and friends, but he also sells them and occasionally donates them to charity auctions (one truck fetched over $200!). He uses the proceeds from the trucks that he sells to build his collection of antique metal toys. Bob collects the wood for his trucks from the scrap pile in his daily walks through the neighboring sawmill yard at Heyes Forest Products. Most of his trucks are made out of pine, but he occasionally uses oak or maple. Bob is a true native of the Quabbin area. Both his father and grandfather lived in North Dana, one of the towns that was flooded by the creation of the Quabbin reservoir in 1938. He lived in Barre for 36 years before moving to Orange in 1990 with his wife of fifty years and their extensive doll collection. Contact:
