Teresa Bovino

Meet Teresa Bovino -- felt artist, reiki master, and intuitive healer. Originally from Cape Cod and Worcester, she and her family recently returned to Massachusetts, residing in Orange, after living in Minnesota for many years. “It’s great to be home. You can’t beat New England in the fall. I love to be outside, enjoying the woods and mountains,” says Teresa.

The artist began her felting craft in 2004, when she took a class in Groton at the suggestion of her aunt. She really connected with the felting process and continued to learn more techniques, taking pointers and guidance from the New England Felt Supply Company in Northampton.

“I love the tactile nature of felting -- taking flat fiber wool and sculpting something from it. I realized if I put a bunch of colors together, I didn’t know what would happen in the end but it always seemed to come out well,” she describes.  Teresa especially enjoys the freedom of expression and the “hands-on” tactile process of felting. Today she makes wearable items and accessories such as colorful baby booties, handbags, sculpted vessels, and traditional and theatrical hats, often times for family and friends.

Teresa's work debuted at the 2010 North Quabbin Garlic and Arts Festival and received very positive feedback. Items are also available at the North Quabbin Woods Visitor Center and Local Artisan Gift Shop, located in downtown Orange. The artist may also be contacted directly at:
