Description:

The 383-acre Lake Rohunta, created by a dam on The Branch of the Millers River, is a gem for canoeists and anglers, but especially for birdwatchers. Indeed, the causeway on Branch Bridge Rd. is regarded as one as the best spots in the North Quabbin region for viewing migratory waterfowl like ring-necked ducks, mergansers, and teals. A state launch site on Eagleville Rd. offers a fishing platform and access for small motor boats; anglers have found pickerel, bass, pike, perch, and more. Much of the shoreline is protected, clothed in open woods, buttonbush, and blueberries. Waterlilies and pickerelweed in the shallow pond, beautiful to look at, make paddling difficult by late summer.

Directions:

Boat access: From Rte. 2, take Exit 16 (Rte 202) and go south 0.1 mile. Turn left on Eagleville Rd. and go 0.7miles to sign.
